There was a whole section of ba-bas to play with and the boys even got to move balls around with a crane!
Then, we went to the West African section where Alex and I played the African drums! We loved it! They had a green screen room with drums that you could play and then it put you on the TV screen with the African dancers/musicians behind you. SO COOL!
I loved, loved, loved that they had a mock African hut. For those of you who don't know, Jeremiah studied post-civil war landscape changes in Sierra Leone for his Masters thesis. One of the things he concentrated on was how the housing types changed. I thought it was really great that he could show Alex an African hut (not that Alex understands any of it, but still cool!).
He even got to walk through the rainforest canopy, which he did at least 10 times!
Alex had his first motorcycle ride, taking some roosters to market!
He caught his first fish! =)
(Pop would be proud to know that he probably would never have left this part of the museum if it had been up to him. I think he could have pretend fished all day!)
And, he even played the piano!
(I really wish that I'd taken a video of this because the whole time he was playing his feet were tap-tap-tapping away to the beat. It will be so much fun to see if he ends up musical one day!)
It was a great little getaway! We are hoping to have many more of these now that are house is finally completely renovated and on the market! It's great to finally have time to do whatever we want!!
