Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!

This picture pretty much sums up Alex's day today.  It started well...he had a blast at MyGym and ran errands with me.  Then....it went downhill.  He took a 40 minute nap, woke up screaming like crazy, screamed another hour and then spent the rest of the day like this...  He also heard the word "No" so much that he started saying it back to me!!  That's scary! Finally 8:00 rolled around and he went to sleep.  I better not hear a peep from him until at least 7 in the morning and he better be ready for a better day tomorrow!

A Few of Our Friends!

I'm very bad about taking photos when we're with some of our little friends here in Columbus.  Mostly because we are way too busy chasing toddlers/kids to actually take pictures!

We have a wonderful group of little friends from our neighborhood.  It has changed over the past year as people have moved in and out, but we have been so thankful for all of their support through this deployment.  The pregnant mommies are hiding their bellies really well in this picture, but there will be a couple new members of our neighborhood group before we know it! :)

(It's next to impossible to get Alex to look at the camera these days!  He has school pictures in a couple of weeks, can't wait to see how they turn out! Haha!)

Alex's First Masterpiece!

Alex came home from school today with his very first piece of art, which is proudly being displayed on the refrigerator.  Now, if you can't tell, Alex fingerpainted the heads of the goldfishes.  What do ya'll think??  See art in his future???

Alex came home from school today with a tattoo!  I knew I might have to worry about that in 17 years or so, but already??  I guess they start things early these days!! =)

A Sleepy Little Frog!

It really cracks me up how Alex sleeps with his legs tucked up under him and his little bottom in the air.  I managed to sneak up on him today and take a picture before he woke up!  Also, note the monkey lovey right by his head....it's become a VERY important part of our life these days!!

Alex Loves Watermelon!

Alex was so cute eating watermelon at dinner tonight that I had to take some pictures.  Then, I couldn't choose just one to put on the blog....  

First Day of School!

The Little Monkey went to his first day of Mother's Morning Out yesterday.  Overall, the day went okay.  When I dropped him off, he seemed really excited to be in a room full of new toys.  I was able to sneak out without him getting upset.  When I arrived to pick him up, he started crying so hard as soon as he saw me.  The teachers said that he went through periods of playing and periods of crying all morning.  He goes back tomorrow morning, so hopefully it will get better!

I tried really hard to get some photos of him before school with his new backpack and lunchbox, but it's getting really hard to get a picture of him these days!  He's really fast these days!!

They Say It's Your Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALEX!!

The Little Monkey officially turned 1 today!  

To celebrate, we went out to Grimaldi's Pizza for dinner...pizza is one of Alex's favorite foods!  Here's a pic of him enjoying his pizza and a lemon.  (Not a great pic, but he wouldn't look at the camera.)

Then, we went out to the splash pad at The Waterway and he had some fun running around.

Last, we went for gelato to finish up the evening...yum, yum!!  It's pretty amazing that the two of us survived this past year. It will be fun to see what new adventures the 2nd year of his life will bring! :)

And the Celebrating Continues!!

We have the most wonderful neighbors in the world at my parent's house.  They are the most fun family ever and we are so lucky to have them in our life!  It wouldn't be the same without them!

Last night, while Alex was out for his evening swim (something we are going to miss dearly when we return to GA), DD and Stephanie came over and hung birthday presents for Alex along the fence.  Alex already thinks the gate to their house is quite magical, but the fence even became magical and presents suddenly appeared!

After we came inside, he had a ton of fun playing with the box and shredding all the tissue paper up!

Happy Birthday Little Monkey!!

Yesterday, we had a family birthday party to celebrate Alex's first birthday!  We had a great time with family and Alex LOVED being the center of attention.  He also loved having his very own cupcake to devour!  Thanks to all of our family for celebrating such a great event with us!  Here a few fun pics:
