What Little Dude is Up to...

The little dude is outgrowing his infant car seat, so we had to order him a new one. He had fun checking it out inside the house. He was pretty laid back in it...I really hope it will stay that way once we get it in the car! Alex's overly-safety conscience mother (who has seen entirely too many traumas during her medical school/residency) did a lot of research to find the safest carseat out there. As you can see, it's REALLY large so I'm REALLY hoping that it fits in the car okay! Otherwise, we may be looking for a new car...


(Also, note how the carseat will match perfectly with the exterior and interior of the car. Pop, I know you like that!! =)

Alex is also still being a picky little eater. He doesn't want anything to do with the pureed baby food. He is minimally interested in the little Gerber puffs and yogurt melts. He wants to play with them more than anything. What he does like are the Baby Mum-Mums. They are an organic rice thing that dissolves in the mouth. They taste like absolutely nothing, but he seems to think they are great! He also is not that interested in the sippee cup yet, but we are working on it. Instead, he comes over to my cup and wants me to share water/juice from it.

The first is Alex crawling. I took it last week, so he's already crawling much better than this!

The second is a short one that shows Alex's new noise he makes all the time. It's toward the end of the video. He does it for longer usually, but this was all I could capture on video. He seems unhappy, but he just makes that noise any time, happy or not! :)

A Day of Firsts!

Today was full of lots of firsts in Alex's little life! The most exciting one was that it snowed and Alex got to go outside to play in it for the first time ever!! This also meant we spent a lot of time stuck in the house today. That's probably the reason for his other firsts....first time to find the dog food/water bowls and first time to open a cabinet! Ahhh!! Life will never be the same again... Alex's crib mattress was lowered yesterday, so last night was also his first night to sleep with it lowered like a big guy!

For those wondering, he just keeps improving on his crawling. He is also trying to pull up on EVERYTHING!! He wants to stand as much as possible...even in the bathtub...it took everything I could do to sit him down long enough to wash him down.

"I don't want to wear all these clothes!!!" He threw a very good, feet-kicking, hand-pounding, screaming fit about being put in warm clothes to go outside. (Do you think he got that from me?? I have been told that I could throw a good fit when I was a little girl...)
